Can a rebrand increase sales?

Rebranding your business can feel like a daunting challenge, however there are many advantages, including increasing your sales. By developing a consistent brand that speaks the right message to your target audience, you’ll develop repeat, loyal customers and invite a whole new set of clients through the door.

So what exactly does rebranding involve?

You start by looking at your customers, who they are, what they want to know and think about you and your business. Then you work out how to get the message they want to hear across through everything your business does and says. And you make sure it is consistent.

Your current customers will continue to see your business as their preferred choice and you’ll stand out from a crowded market. However, this doesn’t happen by magic. You need a strong brand strategy, put together with creativity and focus.

It doesn’t always mean you have to change your business name or logo – sometimes it’s about tweaking what’s there rather than inventing a whole new identity. It does mean having a strategic approach that looks at all these things together along with websites, marketing materials, premises, how your staff communicate to customers, even how you get your brand out there. A strategy works out what’s working well together, what isn’t and how to improve it. It also makes sure any rebrand is done for the right reasons.

It may be appropriate to consider a rebrand if you’ve merged with another business, there’s a change in company strategy, there’s been a shift or growth in the services or products you provide, or that your old brand is simply a bit dated and you need to compete with more modern brands.

Whatever your reasons, a brand strategy ensures you get the right message, to the right people, all the time. That way your business gains the strong reputation and the extra sales you want. Once you stand out from the crowd, a strong brand will also make sure your products or services are the ones your audience prefer.

It does take time to build a strong brand, but an effective strategy will give you the best chance whether you’re a large corporation or a small business.
